Menus have a special page type called menu.
There are three types of children
1) Redirects e.g. to an external page
2) Linked pages link to a specific page on a site (create a link)
3) Create a menu with the child item of a menu
When you start working with menus you will see that every menu item - except for redirects to external pagers creates a so called break crumb path (in German Brotkrümelnavigation! Learn more.
Users will find an intermediary navigation line based on the bread crumb principle.

If you edit the Main menu you will find
a) The root node which is the landing page of your site and the page linked to the home icon
b) You will find children and you can add children: all of these will appear on the top level of the navigation
Children can be
1) A link to a page
2) A redirect to an outside page
3) A new menu
If you add a child with the type menu you can
a) Define the root node - this is the top link which will appear on your list
b) Add children
